How to Apply?
We're so glad that you're interested in pursuing a Spanish degree! Here are some details on the application process:
Incoming students
Details on the application process and fee waivers can be found here. We enourage students to begin their applications early so that they have adequate time to prepare. The last day to submit is November 30. Prior to application, please confirm that all admission requirements whether you are a freshman or transfer have been satisfied.

Transfer students
Transfer students who wish to major in Spanish should complete the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) at their community college. Transfer students may not be admitted to the Spanish Major without specific major preparation.
Current Students
If you are a current UC Merced student who would like to declare a Spanish major, change to a Spanish major, or declare a Spanish minor, details can be found here. We encourage students to meet with their BAC academic advisor before making these changes.
